2020 Annual Meeting of Members Cancelled
Due to the worldwide outbreak of the potentially deadly SARS-CoV-2 virus (“coronavirus”), the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors has decided to cancel the 2020 Annual Meeting of Members scheduled for May 1-3 at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Naples, Florida.
The World Health Organization, on March 11, 2020, declared the coronavirus outbreak a worldwide “pandemic.” Forty-nine states, including Florida, have declared the coronavirus outbreak to be a public health emergency. On March 13, 2020, the President of the United States declared the coronavirus outbreak a “national emergency.” This outbreak, and its associated emergency circumstances, was the basis for the cancellation of the 2020 Annual Meeting.
Members Who Have Registered For 2020 Annual Meeting
FIA has incurred costs associated with planning and organizing the 2020 Annual Meeting of Members and may incur substantial economic losses by canceling this meeting. However, members who have registered and paid to attend the 2020 Annual Meeting will be reimbursed 100% of their registration fees (and spouses, if applicable).
Reminder for Producer Member OR to Return Proxy
Producer Member Official Representatives should return their company’s completed Proxy statement before April 12, 2020. The Proxy is even more important this year with the cancellation of the Annual Meeting.
